The engineering study presented is a component of the first phase of the five-part Saving Schoolhouse Energy Project initiated by the American Association of School Administrators and funded in part by the Federal Energy Administration. Reported in this document is an investigation of energy conservation opportunities at Central Elementary School, Glen Rock, New Jersey. Summarized are the procedures and results of the building surveys, computer simulations and evaluations of the potential for reducing energy consumption. It is estimated that the recommended conservation measures would have an initial cost of $39,550 and result in a payback period of six years. (WB)
