Peer Tutoring: Two Are Better Than One.

Intended for use by classroom teachers and supervisors, this paper presents guidelines for implementing a peer tutoring program. The contents provide a definition of peer tutoring, a program rationale, and a list of steps for program implementation. Responsibilities of participating teachers and guidelines for selecting tutors and tutorial objectives are specified. Program monitoring, tutor training and peer tutoring reading activities are discussed. Word list and reading activity recording forms as well as game sheets are provided. In addition, peer tutoring manuals are recommended and listed. (Author/RH)
