The Piedmont Regional Curriculum. Final Performance Report.
South Carolina State Dept. of Mental Retardation, Clinton. Piedmont Region.
The document reports on a demonstration project funded under the Early Education for Multihandicapped Children Project to develop a model for children (0 to 8 years old) in the moderate to profound range of mental retardation with one or more physical handicaps and their families. Accomplishments during each of the project's 3 years are reported and include the following: to provide training and consultation for agencies which serve young multihandicapped children; to stimulate quality services and assist in the development of services systems for the young multihandicapped child; to develop and disseminate educational materials for training parents, professionals, and paraprofessionals; and to disseminate information regarding methods and techniques developed during the demonstration phase to appropriate agencies. Appendixes, which make up the bulk of the document, include a chart showing the delivery strategy and time frame for each of the 12 major areas of training, needs assessment forms, a training schedule, evaluation and staffing forms, an evaluation checklist, and letters of endorsement.
