The document presents the 1978-79 final evaluation report for the North Central Louisiana Model Preschool Program for Handicapped Children, which provides a model program of services for 30 to 40 preschool children, demonstrates this model to other school districts throughout Louisiana, and assists those who desire to replicate it. The project provides services in a central location; provides instruction with an individually planned program for each child; designs and implements curricula in language development, social and self help skills, fine and gross motor skills, and readiness skills for each of the handicapping conditions; implements a parent-family participation component; develops coordination among the model program, the public school systems, parish health clinics, mental health clinics, and other community agencies within the target area; conducts training sessions for parents of children in the program to provide follow through assistance in the home; and cooperates with teacher and prenursing preparation programs at two universities. Aspects covered in the report include identification and description of personnel, instructional, and behavioral program variables; program objectives; planned evaluation; and evaluation findings.
