Critical Issues in School Law.
This publication summarizes and explains education-related court decisions in an effort to supply school people with guidelines in determining how school law applies to specific situations in their school districts. Although there is some emphasis on Oklahoma law, cases cited originated in all parts of the United States. Cases cited concern civil liability of school board members, search of students and seizure of their property, corporal punishment, due process procedures for student suspensions, parental and marital status of students, and termination of teachers. The lengthy section on teacher termination deals with termination for incompetency, immorality and moral turpitude, and cruelty, and also discusses teachers' constitutional rights in termination procedures.
