Project BORN FREE. Evaluation of Educational Change Process and Project Impact in BORN FREE Institutions, 1977-1978. Technical Report No. 8.

BORN FREE is a project designed as a collaborative effort of university-based counseling psychologists and field-site educators to reduce career-related sex stereotyping in 14 educational institutions. This is the second-year evaluation of the project. The report introduction states the purpose and organization of the report, describes the project, gives an overview of evaluation components and activities, and describes the 14 participating institutions. In the section, Conceptual Design of Second-Year Change Process Evaluation, the goals, assumptions, and operationalization of the change process evaluation are discussed. Methodologies for Second-Year Change Process Evaluation describes the methodologies related to the collection and analysis of change process evaluation data. The Summary and Analysis of Second-Year Change Process Evaluation Data presents and discusses evaluation data. The contents of the report are summarized in the Conclusions and Recommendations. Tentative conclusions and recommendations are presented which concern the process of attempting change in educational institutions and the evaluation of change efforts such as those attempted through Project BORN FREE. Appendices contain a listing of BORN FREE products and publications, second-year evaluation components, evaluation instruments and administration guidelines, and supplemental evaluation data tables.
