This report is a comprehensive analysis of the renewable resources of forest and range land and associated waters prepared in response to provisions of the Forest and Rangeland Renewable Resources Planning Act of 1974. It shows that the nation's demands for outdoor recreation, wildlife and fish, range grazing, timber, and water have been growing rapidly and will continue to rise in the future. The report is comprised of two major sections: Part I is an assessment of the Renewable Resources Situation on Forest and Range Lands; and Part II is a Description of Forest Service Programs and Responsibilities.
