The Class Achievement Test in Mathematics (CATIM) test booklet and teachers' manual are presented. The 45-item multiple-choice test is intended for years 4-5 of the Australian school system, and measures four levels of mathematics skills; knowledge, computation, application, and understanding. Approximately 45 minutes are required to complete CATIM. Students record their responses on an answer strip, which (after perforation), is approximately 3/4 inch wide and 19 inches long. The completed answer strips are scored against an answer key to the Class Analysis Chart. The strips may be arranged on the chart according to student background characteristics, ability level, and so on, in order to easily illustrate patterns of response. Test results may be interpreted according to class results across content areas, class results on particular items, or individual results across content areas. Profiles of individual data or of class data may also be constructed. (GDC)
