Northwest Regional Dissemination Configuration: Final Report.
Northwest Regional Educational Lab., Portland, OR.
The planning and organization of this project are described, as well as such activities as the formation of the steering committee, identification of resources, support for dissemination planning conferences in each of the six member states (Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington), and the development of the State Consultant Model. A summary of the impact of the project discusses each of these activities, as well as progress in the attainment of four major goals: (1) the identification and clarification of the roles and responsibilities of various agencies involved in dissemination of research and development outcomes and promising practices in the area; (2) development of action steps for improved coordination between SEA (State Education Agency) process leaders and subject area leaders; (3) development of action steps for cross-state sharing of resources and information; and (4) provision of an alternative model for coordination of dissemination activities for consideration by other regions. Planned activities for FY 80, recommendations for other regions to consider, and suggested alternative approaches to the organization of a national conference for regional dissemination project personnel conclude the report. Attachments provide reports on steering committee and advisory board meetings and sample descriptions from state resource notebooks. (RAA)
