Teaching guides and a teacher's manual for a two-year individualized writing program useful for mainstreaming learning disabled students into the English class are given in this document. The teaching guides provide daily lesson plans for 34 weeks of lessons at the seventh and eighth grade levels. The lessons are based on a space shuttle theme and each week cover the topics of composition, sentence structure or syntax, word study, phonics, and handwriting. The guides suggest developing the week's lesson with a model composition and note that for some students the model composition will provide the material for specific skills work, while more advanced students will use the model as a bridge to critical and creative discussion, reading, and expression.
