This planning guide was designed to raise questions, identify sources for further study, and provide a step-by-step approach to planning physical education programs. The first step toward equity in education is the recognition of the individual in the conceptualization of the program. Chapters discuss: 1) Title IX requirements specific to physical education, 2) evaluation of current educational environments, 3) suggestions for program development, 4) student assessment (individual differences and motor and social skills), and 5) learning experiences.
