This plan is intended to help the Alabama State Department of Education unify and strengthen its approach to the delivery of services pertaining to inservice education and professional development and to provide a means for appropriately focusing attention on inservice education and the need for continuous staff improvement. The seven standards for professional development programs concern: 1) purpose, 2) programs, 3) resources, 4) evaluation, 5) organization and administration, 6) records and reports, and 7) professional staff involvement.
