The Global 2000 Report to the President: Entering the Twenty-First Century. Volume One - The Summary Report.
Council on Environmental Quality, Washington, DC.; Department of State, Washington, DC.
This summary volume presents the conclusions of a United States' Government effort to look at the issues and interdependencies of population, resources, and environment in the long-term global perspective. The report concludes that, if present trends continue, serious stresses of overcrowding, pollution, ecological instability, and vulnerability to political disruption will characterize the world by 2000 A.D. The report presents no recommendations but does indicate the need for fundamental world-wide change. (Author/RE)
