CSMP Mathematics for the Upper Primary Grades, Teacher's Guide. A Supplement for Third Grade Entry Classes. Final Experimental Version.
CEMREL, Inc., St. Ann, MO.
For classes using the Comprehensive School Mathematics Program (CSMP) for the first time in the third grade, the schedule of lessons is modified to include the nineteen introductory lessons described in this supplement. These lessons acquaint the students with the minicomputer, the languages of strings and arrows, and with negative numbers, thus providing the necessary background for lessons in the third-grade program. The notes to the teacher include: how to use the third-grade entry schedule, materials, and a note on the subtractional algorithm. (Author/MK)
