Statewide Inventory of Current and Intended Career Programs at Illinois Public Community Colleges, October 1979.
Illinois Community Coll. Board, Springfield.
All approved occupational programs in Illinois public community colleges are listed in this inventory, as well as the occupational programs to be implemented in 1980, 1981, and 1982. A matrix identifies the colleges offering each of the occupational programs, which are listed according to Higher Education General Information Survey numbers. In addition to indicating the location of the program, the matrix also classifies the programs as: (1) district programs, which can be developed by any Illinois community college district if they are justified by employer demand, student interest, and available resources; (2) area programs, which are dependent upon the needs of a geographical area larger than a district; (3) regional programs, which serve a larger section of the State and are so specialized that no more than one would probably be approved for a region; (4) statewide programs, which are so specialized that only one or two would be approved in the State, but which would admit students from any district; and (5) cooperative programs, which are approved through contractual agreements with other institutions. If a program is proposed to be implemented in the next three years, the projected date is also indicated on the matrix. (AYC)
