Selected references are compiled in a short bibliography on college and university teaching improvement and evaluation. Material is classified under the following headings: instructional objectives; analysis of performance of teaching acts; instructional techniques; teaching research and development; learning, curriculum and instruction; student development, study skills, unrest; and evaluation of learning and instruction. Those references which appear in the collection of the Center for the Improvement of Teaching (CITE) are marked with an asterisk; other references are widely available in university libraries. A basic text that covers or touches on each category of the bibliography is singled out: "Teaching Tips: A Guidebook For The Beginning College Teacher," by W. J. McKeachie. A partial list of journals that report results of research and development (including book reviews) on teaching, learning, and evaluation of instruction is also included. None of the references is accompanied by an abstract or an index of terms. (DC)
