Toward a Simplified Model of Educational Dissemination.
Francisco, Richard P.
Dissemination of educational research findings, according to this paper, should provide support, information, and assistance to practitioners working in the schools so that teachers may be better equipped to do their jobs. One purpose of this paper is to explore some probable causes for the lack of impact of current educational dissemination activities on their targeted audiences. Another purpose is to propose recommendations for a simplified model of disseminating usable findings from educational research and development to local schools and districts. The paper recommends that educational researchers collaborate with school practitioners for setting research agendas and also fully participate in all steps of the research and development process. Also, federal, state, and local support should be given so dissemination activities can influence schools toward positive change. (Author/LD)
