The 1978-79 annual report to the governor by the Nebraska Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education is presented. The specific mission, responsibilities, and services of the commission are designated, and details are presented concerning commission meetings, hearings, rules and procedures, staff, and the budget. Information is presented concerning the following accomplishments and activities of the commission between July 1, 1978 and June 30, 1979: (1) reporting on the State Student Incentive Grant Program; (2) completion of projects under Title VI-A of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended, and also steps toward phasing out this program; (3) completion of projects under Title I of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended; (4) serving as a "pass through" funding agency and in an advisory capacity for the State Student Financial Aid Training Program; (5) comprehensive planning and preparation of reports supported by federal comprehensive planning grant funds; (6) coordination of surveys for the Higher Education General Information Survey (HEGIS) system; and (7) involvements in national and state projects that affect Nebraska postsecondary education. Appendices include rules and procedures of the commission, a listing of advisory committee members, a listing of commission reports, and a chart of Nebraska postsecondary institutions. (SW)
