The population of the service area of North Harris County College (NHCC) is described using a series of figures and tables. The report first discusses the census tract method used to collect the data and then looks at the NHCC service district population growth by census tract from January 1970 through September 1978 and projects the growth of the area for 1979 through 1984. Subsequently, eleven tables organize NHCC enrollment data by: (1) semester and school year; (2) average number of courses per student; (3) enrollment projections for four independent school districts (ISD's); (4) residence of students by zip code; (5) continuing education registrations and projections; (6) comparison of credit hour and continuing education growth at NHCC; (7) tuition status; (8) contact hours for academic and technical area; (9) full-time equivalents; (10) full- and part-time students; and (11) sex. Population growth in selected areas surrounding the NHCC district is then illustrated, followed by tables detailing the racial composition of the NHCC district, ISD's, and the NHCC student body. The report concludes with estimates of the average family income in the college's service district, and with tables illustrating the number of students receiving financial aid, scholarships, or veterans' benefits from 1975 through 1978.
