Summary 1978 statistics on application and registration patterns of applicants wishing to pursue full-time study in first-year places in Ontario universities are presented. Comparative data since 1973 are included. Statistics are provided on regular applicants and year five applicants, or those applicants who were registered during the 1977-78 academic year as full-time students in year five of an Ontario secondary school. Data for individual colleges and universities are included. Each applicant was allowed to indicate up to three choices of universities and programs, and each choice was considered to be a distinct application. Applicants also indicated their order of preference for their choices. This information is presented for each institution. Other statistical tables present data on: active applications and registered applicants by academic field; applications and registered applicants by educational source of applicants; distribution of active applications and registered applicants by geographic origin of applicants for each institution; distribution of regular and year five active applicants and registered applicants by age and sex; distribution of regular and year five active applicants and registered applicants by country of citizenship and immigration status.
