USM Motor Development Inservice Training Project: 1976-1979. Final Report.

The manual presents results and findings of a statewide motor development inservice training project for teachers of exceptional children and provides training modules from the project. Section 1 gives an overview of the structure, philosophy, and procedures of the project. The evaluation plan of the program is described, and the development of model centers and a resource center are reviewed. The components of the inservice training project and the strategies, such as lesson plans and provision for reimbursement and release time, are identified. Section 2 contains outline modules on administrative awareness, participant orientation, motor fitness, perceptual motor skills, fundamental movement patterns, culminating games and activities, and evaluation/program development. An overview, goal, and objectives are listed for each module as well as particulars such as duration of sessions, use of consultants, and the module format.
