Schuman, Joan E.; And Others
This handbook, one of the Massachusetts Dissemination Project's "Resources for Schools" series, is a sampling of exemplary guidance and counseling programs in Massachusetts schools. It is designed as a practical tool for guidance personnel, teachers, administrators, and other school personnel concerned about strengthening pupil personnel services. The handbook is organized according to five functions of guidance and counseling services: Personal Counseling; Educational and Career Counseling; Consultation; Appraisal; and Referral, and by grade level. Each program is presented in terms of its title, location, contact persons, objectives, description, suggestions for implementation, materials and equipment, and cost. The appendix contains summary charts listing all programs according to function, and includes a capsule description. Although geographically specific, this document is a useful resource for school personnel responsible for program development in guidance and counseling services. (Author/HLM)
