Department of Defense Curricula: Feasibility of Conversion for Vocational Education.
Orth, Mollie N.
To provide information on the feasibility of conversion of military-developed curriculum materials for vocational education, this study evaluated twenty military courses in one of three occupational areas: allied health, environmental health, and occupational health, Selection of the occupations was based on national curriculum need, applicability to vocational education, and availability of military course materials. Two project-developed review guidelines were used by subject-matter and curriculum specialists to evaluate each course. The review guideline topics were based on the instructional systems design concept of curriculum development. The majority of the courses reviewed were determined to be suitable for conversion.
