This guidance instrument (student four-year planning form), middle school program, and student learning objectives for all career and vocational education courses to be changed or added represent the products of a Lake Stevens School District, Washington, curriculum development project. The guidance instrument is a form to be completed by eighth-grade students in planning an educational program for grades 9-12. The recommended format for the middle school describes the philosophy, curriculum, and staffing plan to provide for the articulation of students between the middle school and senior high vocational programs. Written by vocational and career education instructors and counselors, the student learning objectives are intended for twenty-six courses in six program areas: vocational agriculture, business and office education, distributive education, home and family life, vocational/industrial arts, and career education.
