This book provides role models and information specifically geared to women seeking communications positions. It presents the personal stories of 17 women in all areas of communications so that readers will be able to get a better feeling for the communications field, the types of people in it, and the problems they might expect to encounter. The first five chapters offer profiles of women involved in the print media, broadcasting, public relations, graphic arts, and technical communications. The remaining three chapters contain information about education and financial aid for those interested in communications careers, tips for getting a good job, and information about salary and job satisfaction. Three appendixes provide information about communications associations and about broadcasting and photography programs at various universities. (FL)
