Incest: No Longer a Family Affair.
Simari, C. Georgia; Baskin, David
Discrepancies are discussed which exist in establishing criteria for defining incest and for reporting accurate data on its incidence. Etiological issues of individual and familial pathological patterns are examined, as well as the short- and long-term consequences of incestuous events as they affect the victim and other family members. Treatment considerations for the incestuous family are reviewed. Inadequacies in documentation of techniques specifically relevant to the treatment of the family as a unit are discussed, as well as current issues centering around prevention. (Author/BMW)
