Three separate sessions were held in different geographic locations in October and November, 1977 as parts of the National Symposia for Professionals in Evaluation and Research (NSPER). The sessions focused on designing an introductory evaluation course for students and educators who are involved in assessment activities. Each session's workshops covered five areas of concern: course goals; course content; instructional materials; instructional procedures; and evaluation strategies. (Appendices, comprising over one-half of this document, include course outlines, reading lists and/or references, course objectives, and homework assignments; these materials were contributed by Egon G. Guba, Thomas Hastings, Ernest House, W. James Popham, James R. Sanders, Robert Stake, and Daniel L. Stufflebeam). (MH)
