Medieval Armenian Costumes: A History of the Armenians from the 7th-14th Centuries.

The booklet contains illustrations of 40 medieval Armenian costumes based upon statues and paintings of the 7th through the 14th centuries. Part of a series of seven instructional materials dealing with the history and culture of Armenian Americans, the booklet also provides a discussion of Armenian history and detailed descriptions of each figure, his/her place in Armenian society, and the type of life style led by each. A glossary of terms is also provided on each page of text. The illustrations are intended to be colored by students and suggestions for materials on appropriate colors are provided as well as descriptions of textiles and dyes commonly used. Two large maps and a bibliography are also included. The booklet may be used independently of other materials in the series. (KC)
