An Evaluation Program for the Eckerd Foundation Therapeutic Wilderness Camping Program: An Evaluation of an Atypical Alternative Education Program.

The strategy used in evaluating an out-of-doors resident camping program for emotionally disturbed children is outlined. This strategy calls for examining the following elements in the program: (1) program goals and objectives; (2) collection and processing program data; (3) camper progress assessment; (4) program audit; (5) assessment of past campers; (6) case study file; (7) educational accreditation; (8) comparative studies with other existing programs; and (9) presentation of evaluation results.
