The Architectural Barriers Act of 1968 requires federally funded buildings and facilities to be accessible to and usable by physically handicapped persons. The Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board was established by the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 to ensure compliance with standards prescribed under the Architectural Barriers Act.
