The Curriculum Analysis: Some Hypotheses and Implications for the Second International Mathematics Study.
Travers, Kenneth J.
Various possibilities are discussed for hypothesis-generating and data analysis as they arise from the curriculum analysis component of the Second International Mathematics Study. The discussion covers three levels of investigation: (1) the curriculum as intended focuses on county- or system-level hypotheses; (2) the curriculum as implemented looks at hypothesized relationships between the system and classroom; and (3) the curriculum as learned discusses hypotheses linking system and student outcomes.
