The curriculum manual is designed to develop positive and healthy sexuality for mentally impaired individuals. Information on goals, objectives, special notes, suggested vocabulary, suggested activities, and resources is presented for units in primary education (realistic body image, toilet habits, sex differences, families, emotional self and needs, growth and living things, the life cycle); intermediate education (physical changes and personal hygiene, menstruation, masturbation, reproduction, adolescent emotional changes, respect and privacy, individual differences, social interactions); and advanced education (authority; responsibility; decision making; rights, laws, and community awareness; self image; relationships; friendships; group social behavior; dating; sexual relations; marriage; independent living; smoking, alcohol, and drugs; venereal disease). Appended are a bibliography and a resource list of books, records, kits, films and filmstrips for students as well as resources for parents and staff. (CL)
