Model Lutheran Schools. Planning for Lutheran Elementary Schools. E13.
Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, St. Louis, MO.
Part of a 13-volume series designed to help Lutheran communities assess the feasibility of starting a Lutheran elementary school and to assist ongoing schools in current operation, this volume highlights eight established Lutheran schools located in Illinois, South Carolina, Nebraska, New York, Arizona, California, Michigan, and Indiana. The descriptions are the results of extensive survey questionnaires. The schools are of different ages and sizes and are sponsored by individual congregations, associations, or several synods. Some of the most important aspects of each school described are history and purpose, facilities, funding and finances, enrollment, staffing, and distinctive features. The surrounding community, transportation, administrative organization, and other factors are also discussed. (JM)
