This book describes a number of principles, strategies, and techniques which may help community educators become more effective in providing education to blacks and other minorities. Emphasis is placed on communication materials and methods that were found to be most effective in the development and implementation of the Neighborhood Youth Consumer Education Project (NYCEP). Specific topics addressed include human relations, presentation, planning, management, production, community outreach, needs assessment, evaluation, and creative thinking. Each of these topics is broken down into components that must be considered by the community educator in order to be effective in his/her role.
