Preparing for Dissemination; A Study of Technical Assistance for Developer-Demonstrator Projects in the NDN. Executive Summary.

This paper reports on technical assistance provided to 21 exemplary Title I projects participating in a special dissemination strategy to improve educational services for disadvantaged students. The dissemination strategy is outlined, and descriptions are given of the participating projects. The types of technical assistance and support services, and the ways in which they were delivered by the Support System are analyzed. Also discussed are variations in the services provided, factors which influenced the delivery and use of the assistance, and the effects of these services on the 21 projects. Conclusions regarding the effectiveness of the project are drawn, and recommendations are made for continuing and improving the delivery of technical assistance. (EB)
