PERT Analysis Used in Implementing Multicultural Programs in Teacher Education.

The main thrust of this paper deals with the construction of a Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) designed to implement multicultural curricula into four-year teacher education programs, in order to promote cultural awareness and an unbiased attitude towards learners. The most prominent mechanism of the technique is the opportunity it creates for student interaction with educational materials through a gradual acquisition approach. Methods of measurement and assessment of the project while it is in operation are built into the PERT system. The bulk of the paper consists of step-by-step instruction for the development of a PERT network within preexisting university-based teacher education programs. Specific materials, including textbooks, learning modules, filmstrips, and other audiovisual aids are suggested. A detailed budget and cost analysis are included. (LH)
