Curriculum Procedures for the Behavior Analysis Classroom: A Teaching Guide [and] Supplement for Staff Trainers.

This guide presents procedures for teaching programmed reading, language arts, math, SRA reading, and handwriting in Behavior Analysis classrooms. The McGraw-Hill Programmed Reading curriculum is described, placement instructions are reviewed, teaching tips are offered, and remediation procedures are suggested. A Language Arts Index is presented in which all new reading skills introduced in Programmed Reading are listed and cross-referenced to specific sections of 19 different language arts books. The Singer Sets and Numbers math series is described, placement instructions are reviewed, suggestions for preparing to teach and for teaching Singer math are presented, ways to use math aids are discussed, and the evaluation and remediation of student progress are examined briefly. The SRA Reading Laboratory Series is described, steps for student placement are listed, and procedures for using power builders and listening skill builders are presented. The Behavior Analysis Handwriting Primer is described, the pretest is discussed, scoring examples for the primer and pretest are presented, specific teaching procedures involved in teaching handwriting are delineated, suggestions on how to keep a check on accuracy are offered, and a few tips on management and organization are given. A supplement for staff trainers is also included which presents materials related to training others to teach Programmed Reading and Singer Math in Behavior Analysis classrooms. (JMB)
