Forskolebarn och TV.
Sonesson, Inga
This analysis of the relationship between mothers' attitudes toward TV and children's viewing habits, and the relationships between this behavior and the personal and/or social problems of the child, is based on data gathered in interviews with 250 preschool children, their mothers, and their teachers. Findings indicate a positive correlation between mother's attitude and the child's viewing behavior, but this relationship is influenced to a great extent by the mother's level of education and the child's sibling status. Also, within certain groups it is more probable that the TV viewing behavior brings about the mother's attitude than vice versa. The relationship between the child's emotional status and TV viewing consumption and preference, and identification with children on television are also discussed. The major body of this report is in Swedish, with a summary in English. (Author/CMV)
