Memory Span Tests for the Deaf-Blind.
Tobin, M. J.; Myers, S. O.
The final report describes a project to devise and field test methods of assessing short-term memory in deaf blind children. It is explained that four tests of short-term memory were devised (Body Touch - Sighted Version, Body Touch - Blind or Blindfolded Version, Removed Object Test, and Finger Touch Test) and field tested with 32 children (8-15 years old). Analysis is said to have indicated that all tests had content validity, and to have suggested that for deaf blind children there are few general or group factors that can be hypothesized to account for perceptual/cognitive functioning. The second part of the report contains details of the four tests and instructions for their construction and administration. (CL)
