Bibliography of Multi-Ethnic Materials.
Indiana Univ., South Bend. Ethnic Heritage Studies Program.
Developed as part of an ethnic heritage studies program, this bibliography lists materials pertaining to ethnic groups and cultural pluralism. The materials were developed between 1955 and 1975. The objective is to counteract misconceptions and encourage respect for different ethnic groups through the identification of culturally pluralistic curricular materials. The document is divided into eight sections; Afro-American, Hungarian, Italian, Mexican, Polish, and Native American, as well as multicultural materials and a section for other ethnic groups. Each section alphabetically lists and annotates materials in three subdivisions: bibliography, biography, history, and social interpretation; art, drama, fiction, literature, and music; and audiovisual materials such as films, filmstrips, records, games, and pictures. Some periodicals are included. Each section is color-coded to provide easy reference, and some of the materials intended for children are starred. No grade level is given in most cases. (CK)
