Preferential Career Activities for Elementary Children.
Hosie, Thomas W.; And Others
These workshop materials provide 26 free time learning activities that may be used by counselors and teachers in career education programming for elementary school students. It is suggested that teachers identify their students' preferred activities (i.e. coloring, giving talks, making puppets) and then assess the list of career learning activities for items which match students' preferences. Career activities can be substituted for students' preferred activities. Preferential career activities then can be used as rewards for completing academic tasks. Descriptions of the career activities are given along with a statement of the educational objective which the activity may help realize. (Author/RH)
