Designed to introduce the student to some of the major bibliographic tools of political science found in the Raymond H. Fogler Library of the University of Maine at Orono, this guide provides a systematic approach to information sources in the manner of a pathfinder. Beginning with a list of articles that are useful for defining scope, the guide moves to a delineation of subject headings, call numbers and classification, then presents annotated lists of different types of reference materials: indexes and abstracts, bibliographies, biographical sources, constitutions, dictionaries, directories, dissertations, encyclopedias, events/reports/opinions, handbooks and manuals, statistical sources, style manuals, yearbooks, and government publications.
