Separate chapters present guidelines for the following topics (sample subtopics in parentheses): general information (space relationships and wheelchair functions); general site conditions (soil conditions, viewing height, and site accessibility); vehicular circulation (parking, bus parking, and curb cuts); pedestrian circulation (walks, rest areas, and signs): recreation facilities (swimming beaches, pier fishing, picnic areas, and interpretive trails); children's play areas (riding areas, climbing, water play, and seating); buildings and utilities (entrances, telephones, floors, and toilet rooms); and furnishing (benches and chairs, outdoor grills, and trash containers).
