Counselor Training, Supervision and the GLUB Mobile Program.
James, Bill
An assessment of Groton-Lowell Upward Bound (GLUB) Program focuses upon the role and effects of counseling within the six week summer program. The analysis is chronological beginning with the initial pilot program of the summer of 1966, and ending with a review of subsequent programs through the summer of 1977. Brief outlines are presented regarding the characteristics of the student populations, responsibilities of counselors, problems encountered, counselor training, and the decision to go mobile. Several implications of the mobile format are presented along with concern for the Upward Bound mandate issued by the U.S. Office of Education. (Author)
