What Research Has Found Out on the Cooperation of Teachers and the Effect of Team Teaching.
Scholz, R. W.
This literature review contains a general description of the international experience with team teaching, the specific results of team teaching in mathematics, a brief evaluation of empirical research on team teaching, and some remarks on action research. The following conclusions are drawn: (1) team teaching is insufficient as a mere organizational method and must be linked to a comprehensive pedagogic conception in order to be successful; (2) there is no clear superiority nor inferiority of team teaching in achievement changes in any particular subject; (3) the experience of team teaching is best in interdisciplinary projects; and (4) the research on team teaching has not yet given a definite answer to the question of what teaching units can be taught in what form by what teaching team.
