Career Education Handbook for Implementation.

This career education implementation guide is designed for Michigan school districts which have not yet developed their plans for career education, as well as for those that are already immersed in initial planning or experimental implementation. The introduction found in section one includes such information as an overview of the related federal legislation and an annotated outline of this handbook. Section two provides suggestions and information useful for planning and conducting awareness and understanding activities. It also includes a list of items useful in such an effort. Section three outlines suggestions and information regarding known effective techniques for organizing a Local Education Agency and a Career Education Planning District. Section four describes the planning formats, requirements, and needed resources. In addition, this section of the handbook includes a Goals Setting Package, a suggested approach to developing and prioritizing goals. Details pertaining to program development and operation are presented in section five, and policy and requirements for program evaluation are explained in section six. The final section provides a listing of resources available for planning, implementing, and evaluating a career education program. (BM)
