Hearings on the effects of structural employment and training programs on inflation and unemployment are presented. The purpose of the hearings is to determine the best approach or mix of approaches to combat structural unemployment. The document is arranged in four parts. The first section presents six witnesses and statements before the Joint Economic Committee of Congress on February 9, 1979. The second section includes six witnesses and statements before the committee on February 21, 1979. A total of nine prepared statements, submitted for the record, are included in sections 3 and 4.
