University Partnerships in Boston.
This report deals with the partnerships that developed between the Boston Public Schools and local colleges and/or universities during the desegregation process in the Boston area. An overall picture of partnership activities since 1975 is provided through a review of the history and implementation of the pairings, descriptive and fiscal profiles of each pairing and a components matrix. Detailed descriptions of each pairing include historical and chronological perspectives on the activities of each pair. Unanticipated activities that developed as a result of the pairings are recorded. Programs that developed as direct outcomes of the pairings are also described. In addition, a brief description of the resources, areas of expertise and capacity to enter into new pairings as reported by the pairing coordinators, is included. Indices of components, types of programs, pairings by colleges and universities, and pairings by schools are provided. (Author/EB)
