The proceedings of a symposium sponsored by the American Chemical Society and held in New York in April 1976 are presented here. The focus of this symposium was on world interdependencies in the areas of food, energy and population. Papers presented examined the current and future problems facing the peoples of the world stressing the need to approach these problems with interdependence in mind.
