The School of Technical Careers Baccalaureate Program: A Follow-Up Study of Graduates of 1976 and 1977.
Walsh, E. Michael
A followup study of the 1976 and 1977 graduates of the School of Technical Careers (STC) Baccalaureate Program was conducted. Questionnaires were mailed to 214 graduates for whom the Alumni Office had current addresses. For the 113 questionnaires returned, major conclusions include the following: (1) approximately 97 percent of the graduates were employed or in military service; (2) over 60 percent had jobs related directly to their major; (3) over 60 percent assessed their career potential of their job as definite; (4) graduates with jobs requiring a bachelor's degree had more satisfying jobs; (5) nearly 80 percent would enter the STC Baccalaureate Program if they had it to do over again; and (6) graduates assessed their college education as at least moderately effective in helping them acheive goals not typically associated with career preparatory programs.
